A heat exchanger is a device that is used to transfer thermal energy (enthalpy) between two or more fluids, between a solid surface and a fluid,or between solid particulates and a fluid,at different temperatures and in thermal contact or A Heat exchanger is a device that allows heat from fluid (either a liquid or gas ) to pass to another liquid or gas without the two fluids having to mix or come into direct contact. Heat exchangers are used to transfer heat between two sources. The term heat exchanger applies to all equipment used to transfer heat between two streams.
